Hull City Confirm Aina’s Chelsea Return After Loan Spell

English Championship club, Hull City, have confirmed that Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has returned to his parent club Chelsea following the expiration of his loan contract with the club.

Hull made the announcement on their official website on Friday.

Hull also stated that Canadian-born Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori and Michael Hector have gone back to Chelsea while Harry Wilson is back at Liverpool.

“Harry Wilson, Michael Hector, Ola Aina and Fikayo Tomori have all returned to their parent clubs following the expiry of their loan deals,” a statement on Hull’s website reads.

“Aina was the first of the Chelsea loanees to join the Tigers on a temporary basis in July and went on to make 46 appearances in all competitions. His one and only goal in a black and amber shirt came in the FA Cup Third Round victory over Blackburn Rovers in January.

“25-year-old Hector followed Aina to the KCOM Stadium from Stamford Bridge ahead of the start of the season and was also a regular feature in the side with 38 appearances to his name in all competitions, scoring once.

“Tomori – a third loan signing from Chelsea – arrived on the final day of the summer transfer window and went on to make 26 appearances for the Club in all competitions.

“Wilson joined the Tigers on a temporary basis from Liverpool on transfer deadline day in January and made 12 starts, plus a further two appearances from the bench, scoring an impressive seven goals whilst also registering three assists.

“The Club would like to thank all four players for their services and contribution throughout the 2017/18 campaign and wish them all well for the future.”

Hull finished 18th on 49 points in the 24-team final league standing

Up next for Aina is preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup where he is expected to join up with his Super Eagles teammates.
